General Admissions Information (including Policies & Prospectus)
Welcome to Chevening St Botolph’s School. We are a high-performing Church of England primary school that welcomes applications from all members of the community and children of all backgrounds and abilities.
We admit up to 30 children each year into our Reception Class. It is also sometimes possible to join us if there are spaces in other classes. Our hope is that all parents and carers gain a place at the school of your choice for your child.
If you are considering applying for a place in our Reception Class, please review our Admissions Policy (below) and 2023-24 Prospectus (in the menu to the right). Our Admissions Policy has been reformed to reflect our vision and commitment to being an inclusive school for all.
We also advise all prospective families to visit our school before making your decision. Our Open Morning dates can be found here
To apply for a place in Class R you will need to complete a KCC application form and, if you are a regular Church attendee, a Supplementary Information Form.
If you are interested in applying for an ‘in year’ place for an older child, please contact the School Office (office@chevening.kent.sch.uk) to arrange an initial introductory conversation. We will be pleased to hear from you.
Appeals Information 2025:
All parents have the right to appeal if they have not been offered a place at a school that they would prefer their child to attend. You can appeal for a place at any of the schools you named on your original application and were not offered. You can attend the appeal hearing in person should you wish to do so, but you cannot appeal for a school that you did not name on your original application. For further details about Appeals Information 2024, see our Admissions Policy and the KCC Primary Admissions Appeal advice.
If your child is due to start Primary school in September 2025, you can appeal if you are refused a place at one of your preferred schools on National Offer Day (Wednesday, 16 April 2025). You need to submit your appeal before Tuesday, 20th May 2025 for it to be considered by Friday, 18th July 2025. Any appeals received after this time will be heard within 40 school days from the deadline, or where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.
For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 school days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.
