Science Week
Class 6 investigated DNA as part of the school Science week. They were trying to find a way to prove who had left the strawberry remains behind at the crime scene in the hall.
We looked at the way that DNA is a 'recipe' for each one of us and tried to understand the way that the DNA double helix is created by pairs of Amino Acids. We started our DNA journey by recognising that just as specific ingredients are needed to make specific cakes, we all have our own set of DNA that makes us unique.
Just as our DNA is unique, so is the DNA in strawberries. We carried out an investigation to try to extract the DNA from a strawberry - please look at the photo page of our investigation.
